Jim Abercrombie


Jim Abercrombie spent the last 12 years involved in the financial markets in Chicago. During this time Jim personally traded over 800 billion dollars of US Treasury securities. In addition to trading Jim has significant experience valuing and investing in companies, from start-ups to well established businesses. He brings deep financial knowledge and business strategy experience to the Trek10 team. Jim has a bachelor's degree in Economics from Wabash College and he is a CFA Charterholder. Jim is an AWS Certified Solutions Architect.

Michael Barney

DevOps Engineer

Michael started his career out in the serverless world, joining the Trek10 team right out of college - a true Serverless Native. As a passionate developer and open source contributor, Michael co-authors AWSume and helps maintain several of Trek10's open source projects. Michael has a degree in Computer Science from Indiana University and is an AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional. During his free time, Michael enjoys leveling up his knowledge on Machine Learning, when he's not learning more about the AWS platform.

James Bowyer

CloudOps Engineer

James Bowyer graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in Computer Science, and brings to Trek10 expertise in security and automation from his experience working under an ISSO in a traditional data center setting in Maui, HI. James is focused on applying his knowledge alongside established best practices to better leverage next-gen tools and AWS services, specifically AWS Lambda, on behalf of Trek10's CloudOps clients. When not experimenting with new technology, James enjoys watching football, playing cards, and writing. James is an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional.

Forrest Brazeal

Senior Cloud Architect

Prior to joining Trek10, Forrest spent several years leading AWS and serverless engineering projects at Infor. He understands the challenges faced by enterprises moving to the cloud and loves building solutions that provide maximum business value for minimal cost. An enthusiastic contributor to the broader cloud community through blogging and speaking, Forrest interviews the top names in cloud for his "Serverless Superheroes" series at A Cloud Guru and also creates their "FaaS and Furious" cartoon series. Forrest, an AWS Serverless Hero himself, holds a master's degree in computer science from Georgia Tech and is an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional.

Paul Brenner, Ph.D., PE

Chief Scientist

Paul Brenner, Ph.D., PE is the Associate Director for Notre Dame’s Center for Research Computing (CRC) and a scientific advisor for Trek10. He is a published expert in the field of HPC on IaaS platforms. Dr. Brenner is also an Assistant Professor in Notre Dame’s Department of Computer Science and Engineering, as well as an Engineering Office & Squadron Commander in the US Air Force Reserves. Dr. Brenner conducts HPC research as well as grant development to grow the computational infrastructure of the CRC.

Ryan Scott Brown

Lead Architect

Ryan has bounced back and forth between using and building cloud-focused tools at Ansible, Hudl, and Google. Ryan also teaches serverless courses on A Cloud Guru, and is a Serverless Framework contributor. Ryan earned an Applied Networking and Systems Administration degree from Rochester Institute of Technology, and is an AWS Certified Solutions Architect.

Aaron Caito

Professional Services Lead, Principal Cloud Architect

Aaron draws on over 15 years of industry experience from Small Business to Enterprise, 7 years of business ownership, 5 years of AWS experience, and exposure to a variety of business types and practices to guide and lead our Professional Services team. He has firsthand experience with both operations and development and is always looking towards the future to identify and evaluate technologies that align with business. Aaron is an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional and AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional.

Nick Caston

VP Business Development

Nick Caston has over 15 years of business development and B2B marketing experience with SaaS products and managed services. He brings a rich history of brand development and awareness creation to the team and leads the marketing and sales efforts at Trek10. Nick graduated from the University of Notre Dame with degrees in Marketing and Computer Applications, and is an AWS Certified Solutions Architect.

Brandy Coomer

Client Success Lead

Brandy brings 20 years of experience in customer support, web development, R&D, business development, sales, quality control, and management to Trek10. She served Bashpole Software for seven years and eventually led them as President and COO. She has experience and has professionally tutored college students in System Modeling and Design, Database Management, and Web Development. She previously offered web-based consulting services and has served as a technical executive. She holds a Bachelor’s in Web Development and a MBA.

Shane Fimbel, Ph.D.


Prior to joining Trek10, Shane served as Chief Operating Officer of Global Access Point. During his tenure, he closed debt and equity transactions of over $35M and built operations achieving consistent annual revenue growth of 40-50% by expanding services in the data center, cloud infrastructure, and fiber optic network space. Shane earned his Doctorate in Neuroscience from the University of Notre Dame and his bachelor’s degree in from Wabash College where he currently serves on Board for the Center for Innovation, Business, and Entrepreneurship.

James Foley

CloudOps Process Engineer

James comes from a background in operations and process improvement with over 12 years of experience working in various industries. An intraprenuer at heart, James has been instrumental in developing multiple subsidiaries for companies, including the first international office for Better World Books. James attended Indiana University. He is a member of the CloudOps team and working to improve internal processes within Trek10 with a focus on scalability.

Christopher (Kreece) Fuchs

Vice President

Christopher "Kreece" Fuchs brings over 14 years of e-commerce industry and start-up experience to the team. An engineering graduate from the University of Notre Dame, Kreece co-founded and grew Better World Books into one of the world’s leading Internet retailers. Kreece is an entrepreneurial, creative problem solver and applies his technical and analytic abilities to drive new product development and customer solutions at Trek10. Kreece is an AWS Certified Solutions Architect.

Charlie Guse

DevOps Engineer

Charlie has over 10 years of software development experience, ranging across startups to companies of more than 1,000 employees. He has experience transitioning desktop software to SaaS solutions and has deep expertise building and working with web APIs/services, including Reddit’s, eBay’s, and Amazon’s (AWS, MWS, and Product Advertising) APIs. Charlie graduated from Indiana University with honors and four publications. Charlie is an AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional.

Joel Haubold

Senior Cloud Architect

Joel graduated with top honors from Indiana University with a degree in Computer Science. Prior to joining Trek10, Joel accumulated over five years of experience developing desktop applications. Since joining Trek10, Joel became one of the first individuals ever to earn the Docker Certified Associate (DCA) certification, and his expertise in building serverless architectures on AWS has contributed heavily to Trek10's leadership position in this space. Joel is married and has four wonderful children. Joel is an AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional.

Carlos Lemus

Senior Engineer

Carlos has over five years of experience implementing Internet-of-Things (IoT) ecosystems in the manufacturing and supply chain industries and has been involved in the research, development, and market deployment of IoT solutions. Additionally, he has deployed 100% serverless production-grade workloads on AWS for a Fortune 100 company. Carlos is an AWS Certified Solutions Architect.

Mike Norris

CloudOps Engineer

As an avid technologist, music aficionado, and burrito connoisseur, Mike has spent the last 10 years entrenched in everything from tiny consumer electronics to large enterprise infrastructure. Staying on the cutting edge and adapting to the constantly evolving digital landscape is Mike’s top priority. When he isn’t burying his face in a computer, one can find Mike enjoying the finer things in life such as playing guitar/drums, Rocket League, and blogging about consumer electronics and technology (so he’s really never not in front of a computer). Mike is an AWS Certified Developer.

Tony Reyes

Director of Sales

Tony Reyes as spent the last 14 years helping customers transform their businesses by adopting cutting edge technology through software and services. At Trek10, Tony's role is to continue on that track record and increase client adoption of Trek10's offerings through sales and partnership efforts. Tony holds a BA from Wabash College and an MBA from the Illinois Institute of Technology's Stuart School of Business.

Rob Ribeiro

DevOps Engineer

Rob has spent his career honing his interpersonal, technical, and problem solving skills. He spent 5 years in customer service and management, followed by over 5 years in software development and consulting. He has experience working and consulting for everything from startups to Fortune 500 enterprises in a variety of industries including manufacturing, healthcare, and finance. Rob has earned a MS in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from Indiana University and a BS in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Purdue University. Rob is an AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional.

Dave Russo

Senior Engineer

Dave graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Management Information Systems degree. He has spent the majority of his career developing large scale dynamic web solutions for companies from small startups to Fortune 500 enterprises. Over the past 18 years he helped create a small Lean Six Sigma online training company and turn it into its industry leader. The last few years his focus has been on cyber security and project management. In his spare time he enjoys building websites for friends, participating in sports he is probably too old to still be playing, and spending time relaxing with his wife and coaching their 3 children.

Jeanie Ryu

Client Success Manager

Jeanie graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in Business - Information Technology Management. It was during her senior year she took a course taught by Trek10's Josh von Schaumburg, and became interested in AWS and the work that Trek10 does. Right after graduation, she joined Trek10 as a Client Success Intern before transitioning into a Client Success Representative. Aside from learning about AWS, Jeanie also enjoys learning new languages and aims to become multilingual. Jeanie is an AWS Certified Solutions Architect.

Sean Summers

Senior Engineer

Prior to joining Trek10, Sean worked for the University of Notre Dame's CloudFirst team, shepherding the Hesburgh Libraries into AWS by deploying a strategic, 36 month migration framework, beginning with an application portfolio assessment and ending with the re-architecting of critical applications to take advantage of AWS's platform services and cutting edge DevOps practices. As both an EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker and an AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional (in addition to AWS SysOps and Solutions Architect Certifications), Sean has demonstrated a deep understanding of the implementation and automation of continuous delivery systems and DevOps methodologies on AWS, as well as the attendant security controls, governance processes and compliance validation tools necessary to maintain a secure and compliant AWS environment.

Aaron Vernon

Special Projects

Prior to joining Trek10, Aaron developed a FinTech startup concept focused on combatting predatory lending, encouraging savings, and improving financial health for the underbanked. Aaron brings consulting experience with city and county governments to the team. Aaron is a Class of 2016 undergraduate of Mendoza College of Business. Aaron has a passion for entrepreneurship and he's also a great cook and basketball player.

Josh von Schaumburg

Customer Solutions Lead, Senior Solutions Architect

Josh brings significant technical expertise to the team, having worked as a Security Solutions Architect for Accenture's Technology Consulting practice for 4 years, where he worked on a variety of implementations for several Fortune 500 clients across many industries. Specifically, Josh has designed and scaled complex solutions in the fields of cloud security, IAM, endpoint security, among others. Josh also has a background in networking and is CompTIA Network+ certified. Josh has multiple years of experience in the AWS ecosystem and is currently focusing on sales engineering and continuing to scale Trek10's professional services team. Josh is an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional.

Andy Warzon


Andy Warzon has 16 years of experience in the IT industry and startups. An engineering graduate with honors of the University of Notre Dame, Andy founded the technology team of Better World Books, a groundbreaking social enterprise and one of the largest used booksellers in the world. Andy is an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional and a recognized expert on IaaS strategy and implementation.

Ken Winner

DevOps Engineer

Ken Winner graduated from Ball State University with a degree in Computer Science. He has a background in cloud services and desktop applications and was a winner of the INCapitolHack in 2016 with his team's mobile application. When not tinkering with software Ken enjoys streaming Rocket League, and playing with his dogs. Ken is an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional.
